Thanks for all your great ideas, my other brother is already doing a scrap book/family album for them, which is lovely because the baby will never know our Dad, as he passed away a couple of years ago.
I’d like to get something personal, i like the blanket idea, i wish I knew how to sew then could write a message.

Knitted pair of baby booties.
I got some from a elderly care nursery and I fell in love with them. To the point that I had to learn to knit just so I could make some more.
Now I make blankets open lace knitting but not to open so as to catch little fingers and toes.
Hope that helps.. oh and a bag of diapers can never have too many of those. =)

I just had a kid six weeks ago. The best present that you could possibly get a couple is:
A - a good pacifier
B - a swing (or if they have one - rechargable batteries)
C - Swaddling Blankets (larger ones - they grow so fast)
D - Make them a book of coupons (one for cleaning the house, one for cooking dinner, and one for babysitting)
These may sound silly to some, but anyone with a kid knows the truth.
